Our New Home!
The City of Kyle has leased the Old City Hall to KASZ. That building is currently undergoing extensive renovation that will take the building back to the beautiful structure it was when build in 1912 within the Historical District of Old Town Kyle.
When the renovation is complete, it will be KASZ’s new home.
It will also serve as a community center to provide space for city activities that have long been associated with the old City Hall, including non-profit organization meetings and social events and functions.
KASZ will rent the building for social and other events, thereby providing funds for utilities and other functions of KASZ. The city of Kyle is providing the major portion of the funding for restoration, with KASZ raising $100,000 to furnish the kitchen, as well as other items and supplies.
Restoration/renovation is expected to be completed and we will move into our new home in April or May, 2010.
Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels will also be located in the Old City Hall. Meals will be served in a congregate setting to persons over 60 years of age and are able to leave their homes.
Meals on Wheels is a longtime Kyle service. Kyle volunteers deliver about 30 meals a day to the the elderly and disabled citizens of Kyle who can no longer leave their homes unassisted. To volunteer or assist with this valuable service, email Shelley Pulliam at email@example.com. For information on eligibility and delivery of meals, call Delia Bernal at (512) 431-9150 between the hours of 9am and 12:30pm, Monday through Friday.
